how to run far cry 4 without internet connection

Hi guys its been 4-5 years since i last played a pc games...it was gta san andreas....i just got the dvd and installed it....and started playing the game right away...
Now i am again getting back to pc gaming..i am planning to buy far cry 4 but ive heard people saying that an internet connection is must for playing games these days...
Could you guys plz tell me why an internet connection is required....Cant i play these games offline..?

the official information from UBI soft does not mention a need for internet access. If the game comes on DVD and DOES not require on line activation you should be fine. thought you will be stuck with single player

You can play the games offline but you won't be able to play multiplayer. People are probably saying that because most games are sold from steam or other digital distribution platforms which you need internet to access. To play the games offline, you will need to buy a physical copy and not a key which you redeem online. Some games have fiendish DRM (UPlay for example) - you will probably need an internet connection to activate games with that but to play them, you don't.
