How to set cap (lock) for FPS in games

Hello,

i have notebook msi ge72 7re which is 120 Hz panel with GTX 1050 Ti.
To be honest it sucks i only bought this laptop cuz of price and now when i playing games like "Firewatch" or "Little NIghtmare" everything is set to ultra-graphic but FPS are like 70-80.

In this situation CPU and GPU are going for overheating and i feel it.

How to set game to not generate more fps ? I mean to cap at 60 fps max. Is there any software for that ?

Many games will have such a limiter built into their individual settings. I'd suggest looking there first before using a third party application.

turn on vsync in nvidia control panel, if you have a 120hz screen set it to half refresh. Should then be limited to 60 fps

1. Y i know some games have limiter in settings like Elder Scroll Online but "some games" not all.
2. I cant change from 120hz to 60hz in windows settings/nvidia panel or intel panel settings...

Ok ppl i found MSI Afterburner got something what i need.
