so i got a gtx 560 ti second hand recently and it gets very hot at 87C and the fan maxes at 50%. i want to know how to make my fan spin a bit faster in response to heat. not just setting it to 100% because that is noisy and not good for card most of the time. so how do i increase the rate that the fan increases

Solution
You just need to set up a fan curve for it. When you open Afterburner, find the fan speed slider and just to the right click the little gear that says "user define." This will take you into a graph with fan speed % and temperature, and you can dial the curve into just how you want it to behave under whatever temps.

Good luck!

thank you. i figured it out just b4 you replied anyway. do you know if there's is a way to make those setting changes stay after i close msi afterburner?

At the bottom of the main Afterburner window there's an option "Apply overclocking at system startup" that you can click. Sometimes people have this clicked and it still won't apply at startup, if this is the case for you, consider EVGA's Precision X overclocking software. Really easy to use, same idea as Afterburner, and I've never had a problem having my settings applied on startup.

Cheers
