I have a 1080p monitor and I should be able to set my resolution for games into 1440p, but the settings in game only give me an option to up the resolution to 4K no 1440p. Anyone have any ideas?

Solution
Settings games to 1440p would be pointless, as your monitor only supports 1080p (1920x1080) not 1440p (2560x1440), so setting your games to anything above 1080p will cause cropping and you only seeing (Logically, 1/2 of your game, or with 4K only 1/4 of your game).

To run 1440p, you would need to get a 2560x1440 Monitor, as this would support that resolution and be able to run games at that, rather than cropping.

Depends on your graphics card.

Are you using Dynamic super resolution (AMD) or Virtual Super resolution (nvidia)?

For reference, my AMD card allows me to upscale on my 1080p monitor up to 4K, and everything in-between.

Also remember that certain games just don't like those resolutions. (especially older ones.)
