How to set maximum temperature limit for cpu like we do for gpu with nvidia inspector

Can we set a maximum temperature limit for our cpu because the temperatures of my cpu are spiking between 70 degrees celcius to 80 degrees celcius while playing games like skyrim at ultra settings and 1920×1080 resolution

All CPU's in the last 5-10 years have very good thermal limits and throttling built into them.

Why do you need to set a temperature limit?

If very concerned look at getting an aftermarket CPU cooler (I like the Coolermaster hyper 212 Evo for good overall performance at a low cost)

If you have your cpu cores unparked, then park 'em again. also you can try enabling power saving through windows ( if not hurting your performance too much ) for AMD cpu's we can lower the power given to cpu in AMD Catalyst..

have you overclocked your processor? are you using a vcore that is considered high? if no then dont worry about it. like said above, cpus already have very good built in protection. as long as you have properly applied thermal paste and have a cpu cooler in good working condition you will be fine. if your using a vcore that is high then you should get a better cpu cooler. otherwise 80c is not at all bad for a cpu.

laptop have even more protection in place. make sure the air vents are not cloged. use a can of compressed air/gas to blow them out. with the laptop off, use a paper clip and gently put it in the intake vent where the tiny cpu fan is. you want to keep the fan blades from spinning when you blow the compressed air/gas in the vent holes. the speed of the air/gas coming out of the can potentially spin the fan faster than it is designed to spin. otherwise dont worry about it.

and also, many question the reliability of temp programs on many laptops. my a10 trinity laptop sometimes would read over 100c which is impossible since its past amd limits, others have reported 110c or higher, which would cause catastrophic failure. this is some kind of hardware induced wrong reading.

I already bought a cooling pad and I haven't changed anything regarding cpu.but initially game used to run at 68 degrees celcius max. But now it increased suddenly.

get a can of compressed gas for electronics, their cheap. maybe a chunk of lint got sucked in. or you could always take your laptop apart and clean it. while your in there reapply the sometimes horrible factory thermal paste on the cpu. but if your laptop is under warranty or your not comfortable doing this then dont try.

maybe. the people who replaced the motherboard could have been really lazy when applying the the thermal paste. in my experience i have seen some pretty bad thermal paste jobs from many manufactures. this happens with video cards too with many finding that the factory did a lackluster job. maybe you can respectfully question them on the matter and let them know your concerns.
