How to set my gtx 1070 to maximum performance from nvidia control panel?

Hey guys. I have low gpu usage in gta 5 and rise of the tomb raider and I'm getting 30-40 fps in some areas with 30-60% gpu usage. My cpu is an amd fx 9370 but I don't think it bottlenecks my card because when I play all cores are at 40-70% so I don't think that's the problem. So could you tell me where I have to go in the nvidia control panel to see if I have the gpu performance low? Thanks in advance.

Solution
Right click on your desktop, open nvidia control panel, select manage 3d settings on the left, change power management mode from optimal power to prefer maximum performance. Not sure what you think this is going to do for you, it just forces the gpu to be at it's base clock or higher at all times, it wont increase gpu usage.

Your CPU is likely the cause of your low gpu usage. GTA V just does not make very good use of FX processors, it could still be holding back your gpu even though no cores are at 100% usage.

I would make sure your cpu is not throttling. CPU temps are fine however the 9370 is notorious for causing mobo VRM overheating in all but the very best AM3+ boards.

How can I make sure that my cpu is not throttling?

Regardless of throttling, your CPU will def be bottlenecking that GPU in many games. The 9370 is just an overclocked 8350 and it cannot keep up with a gpu like a 1070.

Yeah but doesn't a bottleneck appear when some cores are at 100%? I have an asrock 990fx extreme9 btw.

Make sure it's not dropping below it's turbo clock speed when under load.

Its more a case of, is the GPU running at 90-100% constantly in the game?

No the gpu does not run at 90-100% constantly, it drops a lot in demanding areas something like 40-65%. What is the problem?

That is a bottleneck.

Does your cpu manage to hold 4.4Ghz constantly while games are running?

What motherboard make and model do you have?

No my cpu can't hold 4.4ghz always it usually drops to 4.3 and 4.2 but it's really close to 4.4. Sometimes it goes at 4.6. Are you sure my cpu is throttling? I have an asrock 990fx extreme9 btw. Thanks for the help.

Ok so do you recommend that I buy a 2600x? Will that be a good purchase and will it last for 3-4 years? Or should I wait for coffee lake refresh? Thanks in advance.
