Hi

I am trying to show display of my system into 46inch TV. I am using HDMI to VGA connector, and successfully getting the output on TV. I want to set the resolution of system to 1920X1280, but when i set the resolution to this, the screen gone black, and i have to set the resolution to a lower number. Kindly tell me how to set the resolution to 1920X1280. I am using Core i5 with built in graphics card.

VGA is antiquated and technology of a bygone age. You really shoul make it digital all the way and you won't have such problems. Some causes include:

- your tv may not support that res over vga, if that is how you are inputting it.
- the cable needs to be a good quality cable or the signal will degrade significantly at that res.
- 1920x1280 is not a proper resolution, i have been assuming you meant 1920x1080. If not, that will be the problem.
- if using a vga/hdmi converter it may not support that res.
- if the vga is the ouput on your pc it may not support that res.

Basically a lot of things can cause vga problems, and you need to know everything about the systems being used.

Thanks you so Much for the response :)
Do i need to use a better VGA for that?
