Hello, I need to set my CPU fans to a reasonable speed or a limit speed actually so I don't need to change it everytime because my fans (I use a water cooling, H80i GT) can go up to 2800 RPM and it is very loud and useless ( I guess ? ). How can I set a limit to the fans ? In the BIOS or with a software ? ( I have a Maximus VIII Hero motherboard).
Thanks in advance,
GreaK.

???? if me I would try at newegg and grab a fan maybe a 1600 with the near the same cfm rating and about 25db ? order it and stick it on and see

if a cheap poor fan used it may not be satisfactory even if you can adjust it out as you want ???

I had a coolermaster cpu fan like that sacrifice fan spped and air flow for noise and temps go up and all that jazz .. no just get a real fan on it set and forget

right now your spending more time fooling around then enjoying it ????

I'll take a look at this, thanks.

this is built in to it ?? some reason you cant control it in that software ?

Built-in Corsair Link

Attach the included Corsair Link cable to a USB header on your motherboard and download the free Corsair Link software to unlock even more power.

You can customize cooling performance, monitor coolant and CPU temperatures, and change the color of the RGB LED lighting from the default white to match your system or to change color based on temperature readings and other inputs.

also I see that asus suite can be in conflict with it ??? asus suite is something I never install anyway , so don't know gave me nothing but issues with any board I ever used it with

I already have corsair link although when I set the fans to ''Quiet'' they are quiet on idle but increase their speed when high temperatures are reached but it goes too fast (2800 RPM) and it is very loud even my father hears it in his room haha.. I tried the ''auto speed detection'' in the bios and it didn't change anything really.. What should I really do ? Is there a spot looking like this for example : ''Set CPU Fan speed limit : ... RPM '' ?

Thanks in advance,
GreaK.

must be some poor cheap fans used ??? good quality fans of today should be near whisper quite at that speed ??? [opinion]

cant say on what to do ? maybe replace the fan with one rated at 1600 rpm with near the same CFM rating ??? [your stock fan - Fan airflow: 70.69 CFM.@ 2435 rpm ] . or just a equal rpm fan thats known to be quitter running or of better quality ??

looking around maybe a common thing ?/

several posts here at toms on it ?

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2311750/replacement-fans-noisy-h80i-fans.html

ect...

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/4f5b5x/h80i_gt_fan_goes_from_quiet_1200_rpm_to_extremely/

even reviewed as

''Cooling performance, while amazing, comes at a great cost in terms of noise. At 100% fan speed, the H80i GT hits 56 dBA, which is, as you might have guessed, quite loud. ''

As I read, it seems like the fan speeds are based on the water's temps and not the cpu's temps, if so, I have to make a profile on the corsair link software right ? Because I've set my fans to ''silent'' in the BIOS but it doesn't make any change for the CPU Fans.

I'll see if it works with a profile, if it doesn't I'll just take 2 good fans and replace the old ones. Thanks for your help.

i understand . like you I don't understand why its being so hard to set a nice custom profile ? that's why I linked that one that said there software had conflict with asus's software that maybe screwing things up ..

at corsair forums there a few on it

or

only thing is if you turn the fan speed too low to have them quite how will that affect the proper cooling of the cpu ?? that now may cause it to run hotter then you want as well ???

may look through some of these to see if any help
