I got an SDD but I have 2 hard drives already each is completely formatted if I plug all of them in and follow a normal Windows install at the screen to select where I want to install it, I will select the SSD and then once it boots I'll have 3 drives letters in which I can install/download XYZ onto.
is it that easy? any trade-offs?

3tb is 5400rpm WD blue
1tb is 7200rpm Toshiba
800gb SDD is Intel

Solution
its that easy. install the OS with only the target drive installed/connected. after windows installs to the SSD connect the HDDs. doing this will ensure that all files needed for boot are installed only to SSD.
connect the HDD's and you can partition/format/use as desired.

installing windows or any OS with other drives connected may cause issues, windows may spread files across multiple drives making them necessary to boot. only target drive while installing the OS.
Are you asking if there is any reason not to install windows on the SSD and use the other 2 drives for data storage? The answer is no,not really. The only trade off is SSDs have smaller space, but 800GB is more than enough.

Yes it really is that easy however like R_1 said make sure to have your other two disks unplugged before doing the install. Then plug them in after windows is up and running. It will put needed boot files on one of the other two disks and if you pull one of those drives out for whatever reason windows will no longer boot correctly. I have done this more then once and it is a giant pain to deal with.
