How to setup new build after assembly? Bios, Drivers,etc...

Okay i am building a new pc soon and i know how to assemble the computer mostly, but the thing i am not really sure of is how to set it up once you first turn it on after you have all the parts installed like with bios and drivers?

Here is the list of my parts:
Motherboard: Asus p8z68 gen3/pro
Graphics card: Most likely going to be the upcoming GTX680
Processor: Mayber the i7 2600k or maybe the IvyBridge version idk for sure yet
Hardrive: my sata 500gb drive from my previous compaq computer in order to save money
Disk Drive: Just a standard Dvd drive
Heatsink/cooler: Cooler master hyper 212 plus
Power supply: PC power and cooling MKii 1000w PSU
Case: Cooler master HAF 922
EDIT: decided to just buy Windows 7
So after i put all these parts together, what do i do exactly? what do i change in settings?

A guide to Bios setup will be in your Mobo manual. Some Mfg's guides are better than others. If you want to see it now go to the Asus site and download the manual for your board (pdf) and you can "study" while you are waiting!
