How to shut down a program using scheduler?

I have a program... a .exe... that runs as part of another overall program. In other words you do not open this .exe directly it apparently opens when the full programs is run.

Anyway, this .exe, if it stays open, is preventing me from restarting the main program. I have had to reboot the PC to clean things out. I only now found the reason... this .exe is not shutting down after it has completed it's task.

So what I need to do is use windows 7 scheduler to cause this .exe to be closed on a timer basis. Since the main program runs on a timer of it's own it should be possible to set a time after the main program closes to then close this .exe if it has not closed by itself.

Make sense? Can this be done with scheduler... which I have some basic knowledge of. How would I write the line to make this happen>

Appreciate the help on this.
