How to solve low vram

So I have thought about this a little bit, I have an RX 480 with 2gb of memory, and i just got it, and got ripped of with a 2gb version cuz I didn't read hard enough because I had never found one with two gigs of vram, so to solve this problem could I crossfire with a less powerful but more vram cheaper card, would that compensate in a game like rainbow six siege, or would it still not work to compensate my lack of vram, I just want to find a semi-cheap solution to my problem

There are only 2 versions of the RX 480 a 4Gb version and an 8Gb one. You likely bought a counterfeit card. Also in Crossfire the ram does not stack if you crossfire a 2Gb card with a 4Gb card you will have 2Gb of usable vram.

but how did i get a counterfeit card, i bought a cyberpowerpc it shouldn't be counterfeit
im confused and my wallet hurts because of new rx 500 ima have to get

You sure its a RX 480 and not an RX 460? They do make a 2Gb RX 460. but at 2Gb I highly doubt it's a RX 480. Whats the exact model number of the unit?

it says on the card rx-480m4ba v4.0
it also says 4gb
ima see if my card just isnt giving the right info to my game

Well the part number indicates its a 4Gb RX 480. What are you using to check its vram? If you are not using gpu-z what does it show?

i am just using my games, they say 3gb/2gb, but on the card it even says 4gb
so ima check to see if my game just doesnt understand the cards ram amount
{UPDATE} my card was just tricking them, reopened radeon settings changed a game setting and it says 4gb now, sorry for the trouble

4096 mb gddr5 by samsung, pretty good stuf,, anyways apparently my compter was locking its memory usage somehow, but i dont get it and its fixed now, thanks for all your help
