Question How to start Hypervisor in Windows 11

Hello

I am wanting to run Windows 7 Pro within Windows 11 Pro and I am trying to use Hyper V. I followed the install instructions and managed to open the Hyper-V manager and I created (I think), a virtual machine. I gave it a name Win7. When I try to start Win7 I get an error message that the hypervior failed to start.

Any clues please?

You should enable virtualization in BIOS/UEFI. Check event log(s) for more details why Hyper-V cannot start. You can also try ready-made VHDX files (Microsoft provides some for evaluation purposes).

Thanks. That was the case. I contacted MESH and asked them how to access the BIOS (hit delete continuously on start up). Mesh telephoned me and led me through the process and it worked. Once I had set up the VM memory correctly Windows 7 loads every time. My next problem is trying to get software onto Windows 7 but that is my next question on this forum. The chap who helped me knew his stuff. I would have destroyed that BIOS without help!
