Hi,

I have just put together an XPC ST61G4 and when I put it into standby the
fans stay on.

Is there ayway to make them switch off? I know it works on other systems.

Suspending to the hard drive works OK but is not satisfactory.

Standby is not a full power off. The CPU and other parts are still
running, just at reduced rates. You still need to remove heat.

Try setting APCI power management settings in BIOS from S1 to
S3(sfr). This will also lower the power consumption in suspend mode.

Some time ago this was posted. I have been going around and around
trying to get one SB62G2 to quiet down. Can someone offer some insight
to what the poster refers to as "APCI" and maybe a link or search phrase
to help me zero in on the subject of controlling fan speed and so on?

TIA

Hi,

If you go into your BIOS in power management setup there is an "ACPI Suspend
Type" option set this to S1 & S3.
