I have a TP-LINK WR740N.And I will admit that I am a very power user of Internet.I could eat up 50 GB in a week.(Thank you ISP for unlimited data).A lot of time I find that if I am downloading large files while watching videos and browsing the web my internet just drops off.And no this is not an ISP issue.Completly router related.

It would likely be a bug in the router if it does that. The router should handle quite a bit of traffic and all that normally happens when you exceed to capacity of the router all that happens is you get slower traffic and maybe some traffic loss. It does not actually crash the router.

Im not sure about it being old but cheap, yes.I dont feel very well about updating the firmware since an ISP guy gave it to us from his home.So dont want to tinker with it.I only have 2 clients. My phone and my computer.
