how to stream steam games (desktop in general) to gear VR? without nvidia GPU

there's a post here for this using nvidia shield or some such but if you are an AMD/ATi GPU user then how could you do this?

You cannot. Samsung Gear VR is proprietary to its phones only.

Ditto, theoretically it would be achieved by hooking the phone up to the PC via cable and streaming through third party software to twitch or the like.
However, given Gear VR occupies the charging port, this is impossible unless done locally, which would drastically impact already high load, resulting in worse performance.
