How to talk through the computer speaker using a microphone

I have Windows 7. I need to know how to listening lecture through the computer by using Mic& Speker.
I have an external speaker which i connected to to my computer. Because I was try to to listening my online class by turn on this speaker it did not worked. So what is my option. Please can any one help me out.

Click Start>Search. Type in Control Panel. Open Control Panel then open Sound. Configure the system sound correctly from there.

You can also plug into the headphone socket
