I was wondering if you could help me solve my problem, I'm new at working with computers but if you could help me that would be great. Is there a specific type of motherboard, if so where could I find it and I am on a budget so if it could be cheap that would be amazing

No, what I mean is that I need to get a new motherboard to upgrade the RAM so I can play the games at the LAN party, it can only hold 1gb of RAM.

ah understood. ok. so do you want a mobo that can support your current cpu and video card? that might be tough with aging tech. you'd have to see what kind of socket your cpu is and go from there.

how can I tell what kind of socket it is
Do you think it could run this motherboard or would it just crash?
