on wow max settings (1080p) I get close to 100fps, until I raid then im hitting 30fps with the graphics card I got I shouldn't be below 60 but I hear the cpu can choke my system too, any ideas to check them both? info is in my signature !

I'll just tell you now that it's very likely to be your CPU because WoW is a very CPU-intensive game when it comes to raids. I'm guessing you have an AMD processor? If so, sadly, that's probably why. WoW is one of those games where you really want an Intel.

Edit: sorry - I did not see your signature with your specs. That's odd. I'll try and anwser this when I get home from work. Sorry about that.

he has his specs in his sig, shows an i7 2600... That CPU should keep you FPS up fairly well but when you get a lot of people in a small area in MMO's the CPU really gets hit hard, fps drops should be expected. I'm not sure but i think WoW only uses 2 threads unless that has changed in the last couple of years. These are the situations where having a k version CPU really starts to shine. Sig is a bit missleading as you have hte CPU listed as i7k 2600... is it an i7 2600k? if so you should do some overclocking, should help with the FPS drops.

All the relevant specs are in the signature.

i7-2600k should do quite well. GTX970 should be able to run WoW with any settings.

Raiding is pretty complicated, a lot of stuff going on. It all has to be calculated by the CPU, who is standing where, area of effect radius, and all kinds of things. If you see no change by reducing graphics settings, then it is a CPU issue. Not really much to be done, except possibly overclocking the CPU. WoW is an old game engine, it basically runs everything on a single core.

Not sure it would really do that much to help you but a new CPU would but if your willing to take the risk you can get some more out of the CPU since its a K version.
