How to tell if my graphics card is working

So I installed a new graphics card and it's all in correctly. My computer has picture and everything but when I started it the resolution was weird it changed so I went to look and see if my video card was working and it says standard vga graphics adapter would that be it? I figured it would come up as evga GeForce 950 as the name

You need to install the nvidia drivers now.
