I have a 144Hz Asus 1920x1080 monitor (not sure of the exact brand). How can I tell if it is TN or IPS? Is it true that IPS doesn't have 144Hz refresh rate? If so, that answers my question then...

Solution
Correct. Also, you can simply open up display manager by right clicking your desktop on the desktop in Windows. It will say under "Display:". This topic is very interesting to many people, but those that don't have money to upgrade, after finding out how much better looking a monitor can actually get, they are just looking up more and more flaws with it. If you're looking to buy a new monitor- I'll be happy to help you.

Well I've had this monitor around 2 years an I'm completely happy. I'm asking because I am just curious as I just started reading about the two.

One look worlds better than the other. If you continue to research this you might be disappointed because one has washed out colors compared to the other. Once you find that out, you will want to upgrade, or start to find flaws in your current set that you never noticed before. I'll be happy to help you, but I suggest not to. :p

Alright. Answer this instead. I used this website here:

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/viewing_angle.php

The word "lagom" changes colors to pure red when looking from the top of the monitor. When moving down, the words begin to turn light blue and white. I have two monitors; my other one doesn't have this issue. I am assuming my second monitor is an IPS because of this? I only use my Asus monitor for gaming, and the other, smaller one for recreational usage, such as the internet.
