I bought a supposed 1050ti , but it cant run total war attila or even open the unigine benchmark without crashing. My system info says it has 1Gb ram, while the display adapter says it has 4gb and is a 1050ti. Also there's a VGA, DVI and HDMI port on it, which is weird for a 1050ti. How can I check what it actually is and how much ram it has? Is there a way to see the video ram if I take the fans off or tear it down?

I got it from newegg marketplace. 3rd party vendor.
I looked up the GPU listed online. its a gtx 500 series which didnt even come with 4gb, so they must have spoofed that somehow

File a complaint with Newegg. They should make it right.

As a matter of personal practice, this is why refuse to use 3rd party sellers on Newegg.

Thanks

Sorry to hear all that, aklein - and yeah, I would imagine NewEgg would make it right, and, hopefully, boot that 3rd party vendor off of NewEgg...

So far, I've never bought from a 3rd party on NewEgg, and now I'm thinking I'll continue along with that pattern.

King_V Yeah. Good idea... This seller was rated well too, so that means nothing I guess. He was from Hong Kong so maybe it's just foreigners, but personally I dont trust that Marketplace anymore

A shame, because I *have* dealt with one or two overseas vendors in SE Asia for some computer stuff, and they've been pretty good (FrontX is the one that comes to mind from a while ago for cables).... but a bunch of bad players ruin it for everyone by association.
