How to tell what speed your ram is running at??

i have a core i7920 and 6gb ddr3 ram which is supposed to be at 1600 speed but i read some reviews about the ram and people said it defaults to 1333 for some reason.How do i check to see what speed mine is running at and if its in triple channel mode or not? i have cpuz just dont know what to look at

go to memory and look at DRAM frequency

it should say 800, multiply this by 2 and you get 1600

the memory is DDR double data rate so you double the DRAM frequency

if it was 667 then the memory is running at 1333

memory frequency in cpuz is 790.0 mhz. is that 1600?

yes that is 1600 so your RAM is at what you set it to be


and no you don't multiply by three for DDR3.

3 is just a newer "model" it is just says that because it is faster than DDR2 and more efficient but has higher latency
