I have an ssd and 4 WD 1TB HDDs (same models, different data) installed in my machine...I want to upgrade one of the HDD to a 4TB one...how do I know which SATA port it is connected to?

Bios just shows the model numbers...do I have to plug and unplug until I find the right one?

Solution
In Win 8.1, and most likely prior versions,:

go to "Disk Management"
left click "Disk 0"
select "Properties"
select the "Details" Tab
drop down "Location Information"

ought to tell you what bus it is plugged into, matching the printed bus labels on your motherboard

Simply repeat with remaining drives and easy-peasy lemon-squeezie

I can follow the cables from the HDD to the mobo no problem, but trying to figure out which of the HDD contain what data is the problem...4x same model HDD may not have been a good idea :/

Problem now is that Disk Mangler (Manager) doesn't hold the the order .... used to be if ya put in a HD it would be disk 0, add another and it's disk 1 and do on.... now they keep jumping around .... but it is easy to use Volume Label to tell which is which.

Like ....

C-Boot
D-Games
E-Programs
F-Data
G-Backups

or

C-SATA 0
D-SATA 1
E-SATA 2
F-SATA 3
G-SATA 4

That's not exatly what you asked in your question. Shut off the computer, unplug a drive, turn it on, see if the one you are looking for is missing. You have a 25% chance of getting it right on the first try. In the time it too you to logon to this website, post, read the reply and reply again you would have been done.

Dude, the above "unplug one at a time" is the most certain and reliable answer I've found. This is why God created masking tape and a marks-a-lot. I label the drives physically with a drive-letter, one at a time, as I install 'em. (Masking tape, by the way, peels off so the drive's next usage can be easily updated.)

Yep, that should be standard practice.
