Well, you need to supply voltage and a signal to an LCD screen.
There will a cable(s) running down from the LCD that plugs into the laptop motherboard. You'll need to identify the make and model of the panel itself, get the pinout for the connector. This will tell you what voltage/amperage you need to supply and through which pins. Should also have all the signal wires described. You will need to hook these up to an a connection from a video source.
These days I am not sure how most laptop LCDs are hooked up electrically. If you are lucky it is just a variant of DVI, HDMI, or Display port in a reformatted connector. If not you'll have to make an adaptor or see if one exists already.
