Question How to test if mobo is dead in Samsung Q430?

Hi, I have an old Samsung Q430 that a friend gave me. She said it turned on the last time she used it, and everything was okay, it was just slow. But now it doesn't turn on, and no leds are on when I plug the charger. The battery indicator it has also doesn't light up, so I'm wondering if the charger is broken or something, but its LED does turn on. So it could be the power jack, or the motherboard. The thing is I have no idea how to test those things. What tools do I need in order to troubleshoot the laptop? I don't know how to use a multitester lol.
I tried plugging in the charger but nothing happens, it's like it's not charging at all.

You can get power jack cable for that off eBay for less than $10. That's the max I'd spend on close-to-ten years old laptop.

How do you expect to get what's wrong if you can't use a multimeter and follow schematics?

You'd need a volt-ohm meter (AKA multimeter), but then you need to know what to test and what voltages to look for. An easier method is to get a hold of a spare, compatible AC adapter and see what happens when you connect it. If still zero response, it's a pretty fair bet that the motherboard needs to be serviced or replaced.
