How to test quality of a blue ray disc.

Is there any software that can tell the quality of blue ray discs (like do comparisons or make repot).

Maybe it does a burn onto the disc and then records the results?

In my test I would be using a brand new computer all new hardware.

Its been years but I had software for CDs that did just that. Burned a file at different speeds and than read the data back to check for errors. It wouldn't tell me how "good" the material was, only the amount of errors. But than I could determine what brands had better writes and just stick with that brand.

Im sure some software exist that does the same thing from Blu-Rays.

Is there a purpose to doing this test? If you are not archiving data, than it shouldn't matter for day to day stuff.
