My mobo died on me so I installed a new mobo same hd(hd1) win7 can't repair and will not boot so put in a new hd(hd2) installed win7. Now I need to get sata drivers from hd2 to hd1 not as easy as I thought can some one help

If your original sata mode was IDE, and your new motherboard has defaulted to AHCI, then your old os will not boot because of no driver.
If that is the case, set the sata mode to IDE and see if it works.

There are registry hacks to change an os from ide to ahci, but I am not comfortable with that.

Did you replace with the exact same motherboard?

updated motherboard and the old one is sata

What model were the old and new motherboards?
Usually, windows will boot from the old os if they are similar enough. That allows you to load the new drivers from the new driver cd.

In the bios, there is a setting called sata mode. It will be AHCI, IDE, or raid.
It needs to match whatever your original motherboard setting was.
Try a different mode and see if your old hard drive will boot.

Usually, the only time I have a problem is when the motherboard changes from amd to intel.

Well you hit the nail on the head. I set it to IDE and sure enough she booted up now I just have to figure out how to get win7 to recognize AHCI
