[SOLVED] How to transfer files from hard disk to new laptop

My old HP laptop ith windows 8.1 got crashed so i bought a new Asus laptop with windows 10...
Now i want to transfer all files frm HP laptop to My new Asus laptop...
I removed the Hard disk of HP laptop...and bought a USB cable connector...
But im not being able to open the hard disk in my laptop....
Plz provide me a solution...
I hve so many imprtnt files in my old laptop...

and why can't you open the hard disk on the new laptop?
not in device manager? disk management?
