How to transfer files from my hdd to my ssd

Solution
Its the same idea as transferring files to a flash drive or another external storage device. Just drag and drop folders from the HDD to the SSD. If you are looking to transfer Windows or programs, this method will not work, you will have to install programs onto the SSD the same way they were installed on the HDD.

Solution
a) This process is made much easier if a bit of planning went into the original drive layout. We always make an OS partition on the HD / SSHD such that if the OS was fudged in any way, formatting the drive didn't lose everything else. Just wipe the C:] partition, install windows, install apps over themselved in their original location and all was right with the world again.

if you did this, I'd simply unplug the HD and install windows to the SSD. Then just plug the HD in again and decide what you want where. If ya want programs on the SSD, then uninstall them before adding the SSD and reinstall on SSD

b) if you want to transfer the entire contents from the HD to the SSD ... and it will fit ... then just use the SSD manufacturer's data migration tool.

c) If you want to just move data files, then drag and drop works

Really need to decide what you wan't to put where before going forward.
