I want to transfer my OS from an M.2 SSD to a SATA HDD because I need the slot for my egpu interface cable. I already tried the wifi slot but it didn't work.
The SATA HDD holds just my files and games and there are no partition at the moment. Its an Asus fx504 with 128G m.2 and 1T hdd sata. i do appreciate if someone can help me show the process. thanks

Shrink partition D: by 120GB.
Copy C: partition to unallocated space. Use minitool partition wizard free for this.
And show result (screenshot from Disk Management).

After this you'll have to create efi system partition on Disk 1 using diskpart.
Finish partition copy and I'll give you necessary diskpart commands.

ok thank you... ill let you know when my hdd sata arrives

You will be severely disappointed if you change the C drive from a ssd to a HDD.
See if you can't find another solution.

But, I don't see why you could not replace the HDD with a 2.5" ssd and get virtually the same performance.
A move or clone operation would replicate your C drive on the new 2.5" ssd.
Any needed data files on the HDD could be accessed via a usb to sata connection.

Your current plan is counterproductive.

The suggestions given will help you optimize your system.

Also realize that with an EGPU you lose the portability of a laptop and the performance is not as good as you would get from the same GPU in a desktop.
