[/eb]Hello!

In a week, I will be moving to the capital,(300 km) and taking my rig with me (Sabertooth Z87, 4770k, storm stryker, 980 strix, 16Gb dominator platinum, h100i)

I was wondering what the safest way to transport it would be. I will be transporting it myself, in a car. The problem is, the GPU fits the MOBO very tightly, so the only way I can remove the GPU is by picking at the latch with a screwdriver, and as I am quite bad with stuff like this, I'm afraid of breaking it. Will it be safe enough to simply lay the entire setup on its side, to minimize stress on the PCB, and pack a few pillows around to absorb shock?

The GPU is held firmly by both the latch and two mounting bracket screws.

Thanks for your help!

taking out the gpu while transporting is the safest :)

The gpu should be removed. Even laying on its side, the pc will still be subject to hard breaking, potholes, speedbumps etc which can/will put stress on the motherboard. Use your fingers to push the clip release, do not use a screwdriver. Any slip can/will cause damage to either the gpu or more likely the motherboard. That's an expensive replacement.

Thanks! The problem is, from what I can tell, the mobo is designed in such a way that there is simply not enough room to use my finger to push the latch. I will try though, I don't want any accidents. Still, if there is a solution that requires no disassembly, I would opt for that.
