Hi, I was fooling around with AMD's Eyefinity on a R7 240 and cannot find where to actually turn it off so it only displays on 1 monitor. In the "Create eyefinity display group", there is no option to only display on 1 monitor. I even returned to factory settings with no avail.

Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

on my computer i have a program called amd catalyst control center. There, on the right side is a tab that says manage eye-finity. That is where i would go to turn it off. If you do not have it. You could download control center from the amd site.

Hi, yeah I have Catalyst Control Center aswell and when I click on "Disable Eyefinity Control Group" it changes the settings to each screen is a mirror image of each other, doesn't actually turn off the second monitor's display.

There is an option to disable eyefinity group in the same place you enabled it. I may be misunderstanding you but eyefinity is designed for multiple monitors, never a single screen. You can manage which is the primary/where a full screen game with play in window's screen resolution app.

Hi, I was using Windows dual monitor options to display on 2 monitors but found that my video card didn't like that very much and the display drivers kept turning off and then on again, so for now in windows I set only monitor 1 to display instead of monitors 1 & 2.

When I turned on Eyefinity today, it reactivated monitor 2 (as expected) so I could have a fiddle with the program and see it's capabilities, when finished fiddling, I went to catalyst and clicked "disable eyefinity display group" but instead of going back to my original settings of only monitor 1 being in display, monitor 2 is now a mirror image of monitor 1. I then went to windows display to sort that out only to find the only display option left to me was the display that is set right now, which is 1/2.

Thanks

Hi, I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my problem, it was greatly appreciated.

Since this video card is defective anyway, I've decided to purchase a new one.

Thank you for your time.

I don't think your card was defective, at least with the scenarios you were describing. With 2 screens there's very few reason to use eyefinity. The real benefit/use is with 3+ screens, and presets are a must because eyefinity does confuse Win screen management.

once you disable the eyefinity display group in windows 7 atleast it sets windows to mirror setting in the screen resolution so you have to set it to extend this display. that fixes the problem
