Laptop model is Pacard Bell Easynote TV43CM
At first the power button just stayed down after pressing it and I could just lift it up with something to turn it on but now it has no effect. Have tried removing the button and press straight on the switch but it doesn't power up.
Is there a way to power it on? Could be only a one time solution so I can get my stuff from HD.

Hey, i have a useless power button as well here is what i did:
I use the my Quick browser key to start up mine and the ctrl+alt+delete then press enter when the screen comes up again,
then it starts normally to the login. Yes this does take forever but it works.
As for your key board which is a bit different i would do this:
Enabling the F12 function:

Power on the system. When the first logo screen appears, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS.
Press the right arrow key to select Main.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to F12 Boot Menu, and press ENTER.
Select Enabled, and press ENTER.
Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system.

Hope it helps!!
