How to turn the TV on with someone just opening the door?

I'm leaving for spring break and I need to show my grandma a video. But I don't want to leave the TV on all week. Is there a way for the TV to be turned on when my grandma opens the door? She would just walk in and the TV would turn on playing the video. I think I would need to send some signal to the TV to turn on. The Apple TV would need to turn on too. That's where the video will be playing.

Motion detector or mechancial switch?

Setting that all up could be problematic in any number of ways.

My suggestion is that you stay "human" and sit with her to run and show the video.

Or find an accomplice to help if the timing is somehow critical.

Way too many variables with room for error. Keep it simple and remember what your objective truly is.
