How to undervolt an FX-4170 on an Asus 990FX?

Just use a negative offset.

Stress test.

Use more negative offset.

Stress test.

Repeat until BSOD. Then go back to the last negative offset that was stable.

My problem was that when trying to adjust the voltage, I couldn't affect it with the - key, as I should be able to. A slightly unrelated problem, the minimum I can increase voltage by is .5 and the voltage auto sets to 1.5 when I try to overclock.

My Asus board requires me to select a "+" or "-" first.

Then I select the offset value. It only goes "up" from the start point. IIRC. (Although up means less voltage when the "-" is selected first.)
