I've been looking into undervolting my laptop, because it appears that I should be able to get better thermals and potentially better performance by undervolting it. I tried installing Intel XTU, as this is generally recommended as the program to use to undervolt intel CPUs, though when I try to install, I get the message "Attempted to install on an unsupported platform". I'm using a Dell XPS 13 9360, which has an intel i7 8550u. Does anyone know either a way of getting intel XTU to install, or if there is any other software that I can use to undervolt my CPU?

Solution
Try to install an older version of intel xtu,

next, undervolt it, and heres another link that can help you undervolt it https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/8puykg/xps_13_9360_with_8th_gen_undervolting/

hope that helps

I'm aware of the windows 10 processor state, though ideally I would prefer to undervolt if it is possible, because that way I should be able to reduce power consumption of the CPU whilest still allowing it to perform to its maximum.
