I have a situation. I have a new processor and a new mother board. the mobo is older and only supports the processor after a BIOS update. How do I update the BIOS in this situation?

@tidusmaximus1 No, you can't update your z87-A motherboard without a CPU. It doesn't support usb bios flashback. But the motherboard might very well come to you with an updated bios.
BIOS updates need a working system. The BIOS can be updated via Windows or Dos (check MB producer website for more instructions). So, basically you need a working CPU to startup your system.

You're welcome.
And no, but you should no what bios version it is before opening the box anyway, there's a sticker on the box that tells you what bios version is loaded on it. If it has the bios version 2004 or higher on it, you should be fine.
