Hey all
I am having a problem where my computer freezes at the asus logo screen and it freezes in the bios too so I cant make any changes.
So I asked the forum on how to fix this and someone said this... win 8.1 is install on the drive that is from theprevious system and you try to use that drive in the new motherboard without formating the drive strart with a clean drive first.
I am new to PC building and have no clue what i need to do to update my drivers without entering windows and being able to access my bios.
I have a disc with windows on it do I try and reinstall that?
Thanks for all the help

Boot from your windows install disk, re format the hard drive, and do a clean install. Other than that, windows and its driver issues will have no effect on your computer during bios, so it sounds like you are having another issue as well. Since the computer is able to start and get into bios, the first thing i would troubleshoot would be the ram. If you have more than one stick, start with only 1 installed, use memtest to check it, and then take it out and repeat with the other stick(s). If you have only one stick of ram, try installing it into different slots on the motherboard, and use memtest.
Hope this helps!

I have just started my computer and it goes through asus logo and into a black screen is this a good thing or bad?
