My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming.
I have the BIOS version F21, very old. I want to update the BIOS to the latest version which is the F50d, how do I update to the latest version having such an old version?

This is the F50d version on the website, it does not say any type of requirement about versions to install

but if we look at these versions prior to this one, if it asks version requirements to install

Can I install the F50d directly with the F21 version or should I go from version to version until I get to the F50d?

Solution
Update to F31
Then update to F40
run the EC FW Update Tool if you ever intend to swap CPU and run 4 sticks of ram (it will be in the bios zip file)
If not, after F40 you can just install F50d

I'm trying to run EC FW Update Tool but when I press Start, the program closes and I don't get any error, it just closes. What can I do?

Check the folder where you ran the tool from. If it has a file called ReadMe.txt or similar in there and it has a line in it that reads "Pass", Then all is good, the tool ran successfully, you don't always get an indication it did anything.

The tool is to prevent issues with compatibility when using all 4 DIMM slots on a 3rd Gen Ryzen processor. So it stands to reason if you're not running 4 DIMMS whilst running a 3rd Gen Ryzen, you're probably going to be fine.
As with all BIOS/UEFI upgrades though, unless you have a specific reason for upgrading i.e. You wish to upgrade to use a newer processor or newer RAM compatibility, then its best to leave it alone.
