How to Upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10
If your computer runs Windows 8, you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

There are two ways you can upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10:
[listNum]■By booting the computer from Windows 10 bootable installation media (DVD/USB Drive) and running the setup from there.
■By initializing the upgrade process from within Windows 8. This can be done by inserting a Windows 10 disc or connecting a USB drive containing Windows 10 files to the computer.

In the first method, the process to upgrade to Windows 10 is identical to a clean install with the exception that when you are on the Which type of installation do you want screen, you must choose Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications option to upgrade.

In the second method, no bootable media is needed. A USB drive containing Windows 10 installation files can help you upgrade to Windows 10. You can get the installation files for Windows 10 by downloading its .ISO image and then extracting the files from the image using a program like 7zip or WinRAR.

The second method is demonstrated in this tutorial:
■Log on or sign in to your Windows 8 computer with any account that has admin privileges.
■Insert the Windows 10 installation disc or connect the USB drive containing the Windows 10 installation files.
■Click the blue pop-up box that appears.
