Im thinking about upgrading my modem, the Arris telephony modem (http://www.amazon.com/Arris-TM602G-ARRIS-Telephony-Modem/dp/B0039UWW54) to this: http://cable-modem-review.toptenreviews.com/arris-motorola-sb6141-review.html but the problem is it doesnt have all the telephone connectors on the back of it, is there anything I could buy to have that added on to the Arris Surfboard or would I have to buy a different modem with all the other connectors.
Thanks

First thing you need to do is look at the list of devices you ISP will allow you to use You will find that many support the motorola/arris line of stuff but may not support other brands. This is not because it technically won't work it is more they decided they just do not want to deal with all the models.

If you use the phone service you are most times stuck leasing the device. This is not VoIP it is a special voice over cable and the ISP likes to have control over the modem so they can provide good server to the voice.

Now if you do not subscribe to the voice service it is just a matter of choosing from the list. The device you have is only docsis2 a docsis3 device should be much faster BUT the ISP must actually offer...

If they don't a docsis3 modem will just drop back to docsis2 and be the same as your current device.
