I have recently been initiated to the gaming world, and impressed my friends when I played COD Black-ops for the first time.
I enjoyed it, too.
However, in order to play on my own computer, people admonished it (the CPU)was too backward/old/obsolete/boring/useless/piece-of-junk/etc.
I live in India, and though availability could be a problem, I'll try to manage the components.
And please help me in layman terms......

The following is my system:

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.2 GHz
RAM : 1 GB DDR2

System type: 32-bit OS

PSU : i-ball 450 watts

No graphics card.
No audio card.
Keyboard, LCD, Mouse, etc.

well. people will want to know what monitor resolution you want to play at and what level graphics you find acceptable (low medium high). what motherboard you have would help.

my initial thought is you may need to start from scratch if you want to game, but COD isn't that demanding so maybe something can be done. someone with more experience with older Intel systems may have a better idea. here are the cod blackops requirements though.

Minimum System Requirements:

- OS: Windows Vista/XP/7
- Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better
- Memory: 2GB
- HDD: 12GB
- Video: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT/ATI Radeon X1950Pro or better
- Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
- DirectX: 9.0c

Your current system could be upgraded to play call of duty however it is old enough that parts are not easily available from stores and first use electronics web sites. It would cost about the same amount and be less hassle to build your self a new system using last gen hardware, as well as being more easily upgraded for the future.
