Hi forum!

I'm looking forward to upgrade my PC to play http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Total_War_Rome_II on maxed settings, and Also Shogun II.

My current Specs now are:

P8P67 PRO REV 3.1
i5 2500K @ 3.3Ghz with stock cooler
Corsair Vengeance 4gb x2 DDR3 @1600Mhz
XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB DDR5
I can't remember the trademark of the HDD, but it's a SATA3 7200 RPM 1TB.
An XFX Core Edition of 850W

What changes should I make?

The only thing that I can think of is upgrading to a Geforce 670 or 680.
Maybe also a cooler for the CPU ?
What about RAM?

Any of these purchases will really make a difference in playing games?

Im not satisfied at all at my 6950 performance right now... but what about a crossfire?!

Thanks a lot!

that graphic card should play that game easily at max settings, if u can find a 6950 cheap crossfire would be a nice upgrade :)

Actually iceclock, it SHOULD also play Battlefield 3, and Shogun 2 Total war at max settings... and I have to run both on med/low, if I want to get 45+ FPS. Maxed out I get 15-30 FPS on both... so I really don't trust the 6950 series.

I'll reformulate my question: "If i want to get a decent framerate (60+ fps); what should my next upgrade be?"

My economic chances are:
Geforce 670 or 680.
HD 7950/7970
Cooler for the CPU (OC'ing)
What about RAM?
CrossfireX of 6950s?!

I can probably choose only one of the above at least now... and then wait til august, when Rome II comes out and check my rig's performance.

well considering finding a 6950 isnt that easy or smart wise moneywise.

id say get a hyper 212 evo for overclocking that gpu.

for 30$ cant beat this at this price range.

for ram id bump it up to 16 gigs as 8 gigs is like 45-ish and its 62$ ish for 16:

nice geil 16 gig kit right there 1600mhz.

and for videocard id recommand this for best bang for ur bucks.

geforce 660ti 2 gigs 279 after mail in rebate. or if u got less money id recommand the 7870 for 220 ish:

and yes all the above will give u a nice performance boost.

and i dont think crossfiring a 6950 is a great idea at this point.
