I have my Asus S200E vivobook laptop (1.8Ghz, i3 processor, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM) laptop. I had a problem in my powerjack. The cost of changing power jack around Ohio was $120 to $179. So I looked at various videos and bought repair tool - $8; Replacement power jack - $6; solder iron - $8 in eBay and screwed the board. The edge of the board was broken. Then I browsed through eBay and found the same mother board new one for $58 (Same model number but not asus). Bought the new mother board and refixed it. I did not install OS, just restored using restoration point saved in my USB stick.

In the above scenario, I found the same exact model number of my mother board. Now I would like to upgrade another laptop. HP COMPAQ PRESARIO. its with intel dual core processor. Will I be able to upgrade that motherboard with i3, i5 or i7 without changing RAM and HDD?

Is it possible?

TIA

NO you will not be able to do that, will have to get a new laptop the motherboards are not like desktop systems where you can just put in a new motherboard as long as the memory is the same type and speed. Laptop mother boards very very seldom will work in a different model system.
