I just got steam because a friend had bought Modern Warfare 2 but did not have the hardware to run it. Usually I use xboxcontrolleremu to have my ps2 usb controller work in games but with steam theere is not game folder to hack this in. Is there a way to play CODMW2 with a usb ps2 controller?

Do you REALLY want to use a game controller with that game? :pfff: Mouse and keyboard are SO much better. You can turn quicker, you can aim more precisely. I just never understand why people continue to use game controllers with FPS-type games on PCs. It's like oil and water.

6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. I use my gamepad predominantly for the fact I contracted carpel tunnel from hour upon hour of command and conquer. I find the controller more comfortable and much more ergonomic (I also can't type, and have large fingers anyway), and to me thats worth getting shot in the back occasionally. If you need more proof I play combat arms and maintain a .82 KDR (up .03% from M+KB plus I can play more than two matches a day because of the pain in my wrist).

By the by, I notice you list a 360 game pad in your specs. Hypocrisy much?

And always remember, without oil you can't get to work to pay for all that water.

Speaking of water...

Thought you might appreciate that.

I use it for non-FPS games. All my FPS games, I use a mouse. I mainly use the 360 controller for sports games, but definitely NOT for FPS games, especially where I play online. I don't see that as hypocrisy. Now, if I were playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with it, then yes, that would be hypocrisy. 😱

Dude... it was a joke. I have a couple of flying games and I use my game pad there too.

I know. Hence, the 😱 smiley. Maybe the [:isamuelson] or 😉 would have been better?

I also use it for driving/racing games. I just can't see shelling out money for a wheel as I don't have THAT many racing games (waiting for Dirt 2 to drop in price and then I'll get it. Love the demo!)

See, this is what I hate about IM style communication, no sense of emotion behind the posts. I'm not familiar with the smiley system either. Actually, I remember reading an article one that said people whom text, or IM alot are losing there ability to recognise actual peoples emotions because real facial expressions are more minute that the emoticons. I'm just glad I have enough human contact to still know how people feel, evan if I am so attentions starved that I feel the need to be a part of a computer forum to, in a way of speaking, talk to my people.

Suddenly I feel sorry for myself...

Oh well, I usually write the best in this mood anyway...

I already did that. Then isamuelson countered me (and added the mouse and keyboard nit) spawning a very interesting conversation between us, and one that was mirrored in some one elses question.

All in all, good day to you sir.
