How to use a system image (Windows 10)

My hard drive is starting to die so I decided to buy a new 1TB hard drive to do a system image onto, but now that I have finished copying how do I dispose of my old hard drive and use the new one as my main one? Also I used Windows 10 system image.

Just disconnect the old hard drive. Boot up windows and make sure it boots

As long as the new one boots properly and re-activates...

Now you can slave the old one back on and reformat it, long version, not quick. That will not keep a determined person from pulling up[ the old partitions but it is the simplest.

Disassemble if you want to truly get rid of it. Nice Magnets in there too.

I pluged in the new hard drive that was imaged and it just says locate booting thing when I start my PC
