how to use both my GPU's while gaming

i have 2 gygabite gtx 970 gaming 1 WIndforces

i want to use both of them while im gaming but i cant figure out how

i have MSI afterburner
and nvideo geforce experience up to date

Do you have a SLI bridge and SLI enabled in the GeForce experience? That should do it.

Yeah I do but I'm not getting any performance increase exactly the same as non sli

Check your GPUs usage (both of them) and your CPU's as well.

When I use msi afterburner gpu 2 99% and the other is 0

Oh an my cpu usage is like 32% while gaming

Try swapping the cards, reinstalling the SLI bridge and reinstalling the drivers (choose Clean Install). Make sure your SLI settings in the Nvidia Control Panel look like this:

Make sure your game supports SLI

i re installed the nvidea drivers and the sli bridge but its still running as one GPU and the control panel look like the link you sent me

when i benchmark it shows that it ran both of them but when im gaming it wont for some reason

im using one monitor only

What games is it not working in? If it works when benchmarking but not gaming I'd investigate there. You maybe have to do some tinkering. Recently I had to use Nvida Inspector to set up an SLI profile for Skyrim Special Edition to make it work.

Counter strike I get 300fps
Battlefield 1 60
Batman ark ham night is 30
Doom is ogl 60

I enabled something I'd the Nvidia control panel that shows a bar on the left side of the screen that shows the gpus working and they are almost maxing out still at 60fps I figured they wouldn't be working hardly at all to put out 60fps for bf1 same with the above games

I don't know if that setting in 3d setting drop down is telling me the truth

I'm going to try some more games at 1 pm today when I get off work

Yeah I would have expected more, sli 970's in those games should be around 980Ti performance

I beat 2 980s in sli with my wife cards in 3d benchmark through steam using time spy

When I'm gaming everything locks at 60 or below
The 3d setting that shows the bar is saying there working but looks like there working at 70% both of them to 60 fps

I never used more that 40% with one to get 60 fps
