How to use D link ADSL router with cable internet

Hi,

Earlier i was using Airtel connection with D-Link ADSL Modem+rotor, Now i have taken new Excitel connection..having problem in connecting to ADSL router. As i had searched lot of site to change the configuration of ADSL Router.
please give me solution to connect the excitel internet ethernet port(RJ45) with D link ADSL modem+router.

You can't use an ADSL modem/router combo as your primary router for a new ethernet ISP. You could use it as a WIFI access point, but you will need a new primary router. This is one of the main reasons I don't recommend combo modem/router units.

hey thanks for ur response !!
i ahve tried to disbaled the DHCP in router configuration. and the default IP provided by ISP used as a gatway in EThernet adaptor. it workes for while but again ..no response.
