I am using Sapphire HD 5770 1gb vapor-x graphics card and I just bought a acer eb321hqu monitor which supports 2560x1440

I have tried using displayport cable and I can get 2560x 1440.

But when I use hdmi cable, I cannot get 2560x 1440, at windows 10 display settings I see [1920x1200(Recommended)] is the maximum available I can select.

May I know how to use hdmi to get 2560x 1440? Or is it only displayport can get 2560x 1440?

Thanks a lot

What version HDMI port your GPU has? Since when it has 1.2 or 1.2a then best you can get is 1080p. For 1440p over HDMI, your GPU needs to have 1.3 or newer version HDMI port.

How to check what HDMI port version does my GPU has? Is there somewhere in Windows 10 that can tell me what HDMI port version?

This is my graphics card specs

Thanks problem solved.
Just to learn more,
How to check what HDMI port version does my GPU has?
Does the HDMI port version stay the same forever since the first day I bought it, or can I upgrade/update to newer version myself?

HDMI port version should be listed in official GPU specs and/or in GPU manual. If it's not there then there's no way on how to find out which version your HDMI port is. Unless you contact Sapphire and ask them directly.

Also, you can not "upgrade" the HDMI port. Same is when your PC has USB 2.0 port and you want to "upgrade" it to USB 3.0 port to get double the speeds. It doesn't happen.
